Restore French Retreat

FLOW TO RESTORE FRENCH RETREAT
7th -12th September 2023

AMASSA PLACE is the remnants of a rural hamlet in SW France within 6 hectares of fields, garden and woods. Tania Eber and Ben Rose the co-founders of LevelSix in Peckham, took on the ownership in 2020 to create a beautiful, inspiring and restful place for people to come together to pause, play and grow: surrounded by nature within the working agricultural land and to connect with others as a community. A place to be curious and to learn and leave enriched, resourced, rejuvenated.

YOUR TEACHERS

Caroline Tautz’s decades of experience are reflected in her teaching of a wide range of modalities comprising yoga, somatic movement with embodied awareness at it’s core. Classes are explorative, sometimes dynamic, sometimes restorative and often with a playful light-hearted element. With an eye for detail and an imagistic language she brings you into a deeper awareness of sensation and grounded presence.

Caroline Harrison began her movement practice as a contemporary dancer before moving into personal training and Pilates teaching. Like Caroline T she has a broad experience of practices and continues to develop her understanding of how we move/feel/connect to ourselves and each other.

The Caroline’s met whilst training at The Laban Centre in 1988 and although they took their movement practices into different directions they have always shared common ground with a creative approach to teaching and exploration of movement in it’s broadest form. The retreat will combine team teaching and lead/support with lots of opportunity for hands on adjustments and individual input.

Daily classes in either yoga or Pilates will lead to ‘off the mat’ sessions exploring more diverse, sensory and creative led movement. All the workshops and classes will have a strong thematic drive (either anatomical or sensory) and will combine self exploration with the fun of having time to delve deeper.

There will be guided walking meditations and plenty of time to relax in the gardens or by the pools.

Amassa Place has 2 large indoor studio workshops in the old stone barn bathed in light from all directions, 2 outdoor swimming pools, outdoor areas for eating and gathering under the trees or in the sun, as well as plenty of nooks and crannies to disappear to with your book,  meditation cushion or sketch pad.

WOODY PYKE (@confettipapi) - chef
“For me it’s about simple food, good ingredients, respecting the seasons and respecting locality. Not adding sugar and salt to everything because that’s the obvious way to make things taste good. But just letting ingredients be themselves and knowing that that’s good enough. I want to make food that makes people feel good. Food that after you’ve eaten it, you feel full, satisfied and ready to go.”
